Hungary 1919: The revolution no one talks about

Location

At the end of the first world war the empires of Europe were ripped apart by revolutions. Many cities were briefly ruled by their own workers and soldiers. Only in Russia did this lead to a successful socialist revolution. (Which was overturned by Stalinist counter revolution in the late 1920s.) Outside of Russia, workers’ governments lasted only for days. The exception was the Hungarian Republic of Councils which was in power for 133 days from March to August 1919. Join us for a discussion of the history, accomplishments, and lessons of the Hungarian revolution.

We’ll also have a planning session to look at the campaigns we’ll be involved in over the next few weeks.
