Iran: A history of revolution and revolt

Join us for a talk and discussion of the history of Iran from the workers’ revolution that overthrew the Shah, through the counter-revolution that installed the current regime, and the many mass movements that lead to the protests today.

Speaker: Erfan Rezaie is a physics instructor at UBC and snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ - Langara, on the unceded lands of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-waututh. He and his family arrived there in 1988 as Convention refugees from Iran. He is a member of the International Socialists, and a volunteer in organizations that support refugees and migrant workers.
