Dave Fennario was a well-known Montreal playwright and poet who aimed to tear down the fourth wall between stage and audience. But he was also a socialist who believed that theatre could break down the walls between working people and their own power to change society. He was a revolutionary historian of Montreal as a stage of dramatic struggles from below. His pen was both a tool and a weapon for workers' liberation, put to the service of building revolutionary socialist organization. He passed away on September 16 2023, but his artistic and political legacy live on. This celebration will feature three presentations on different aspects of his work followed by discussion.
