What's going on in BC's election?

In the last election the BC conservatives were a fringe party with only 2% of the vote. They have kept their fringe policies, they are anti-vax, climate change deniers, anti-trans, and oppose the UN Deceleration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. But in the opinion polls they are no longer on the fringe, polling neck and neck with the NDP.

The NDP came into government and carried out our many of the policies of the hated Liberal government they defeated. Continuing on with the Site C Dam, expanding subsidies and tax breaks to fossil fuel companies and leaving in place most of the tax cuts for the rich and the cuts to public services they necessitated.

The Greens have gone from supporting the NDP while they built site C and expanded fracked gas expansion to pointing out the climate denial of both the Conservatives and the NDP. The Greens are promoting undoing the Liberal cuts to public spending that the NDP have left in place over the last seven years.

Join us to talk about what’s going on and the role of elections in the fight for a better world.
