Too often Marxists are accused of being ruthlessly industrial (a la Stalin, China) and/or of having nothing to say about environmental issues.
In response we will look to the many rich writings of Marx and Engels about humanity's intimate relationship with the rest of nature. While not collected into one book, the writings span the many years when each of these revolutionaries wrote. Not only did they reflect the sad realities of capitalism's ecological damage in their day, they foresaw the potential ruin that capitalism would bring. No doubt they are saying "schadenfreude" from their graves, although they would not be taking any joy in today's destruction so much as the rising tide of opposition to it.
