The coronavirus pandemic is a crisis on a scale and of a depth that is hard to fully grasp. It comes at a time when the basic essential services from healthcare, sanitation, food provision to social assistance and housing have been battered by decades of cuts and austerity. While the 1% like Loblaws CEO Galen Weston are portrayed as nice guys for giving workers a *temporary* wage increase, the ruling class are already seizing every opportunity available to enrich themselves further on the backs of the 99%.
How are working people responding to this crisis? How do we fight for the services and support we need? How do we fight collectively in a time of social isolation? How do make sure this crisis lays the foundation for a new society, based on meeting human need instead of corporate greed? What is the connection between the pandemic and the growing climate crisis?
